Lil' old Me

I am a full-time working mum who works shifts with a son Richard aged 21 and a daughter Emma aged 18. I have been married to my lovely Husband Paul for 23 years. My passion in life, besides my family, is papercrafting, especially cardmaking, although I "dabble" in scrapbooking. I was introduced to Jewellery making in 2012 and found another addiction :) I have been cardmaking since 2006. I am also a bit of a tigger freak!

Thinking of You

I made this card today using two stamp set that have yet to see ink (bad Jane!).  I love how all the different stamps all layer to make the finished components.  This is a flat card but there are also Thinlet Dies to cut out the seperate parts to make dimensional components too.

New Home card

I had this idea in my head for a couple of days but wasn't sure if it would work.  I needed to make a new home card but wanted the house to "stand out" so not only is it up on 3d pads I also coloured with my pens.  Really pleased with the result.

My first two Christmas card of 2015

These are my first two card for Christmas 2015.  I was so rushed with orders and late with making my own card that 2014's cards were very simple and none were photographed or blogged.  I am determined to make one Christmas card per week this year and these start the ball rolling, so to speak!

This first card is made using a set of stamps which are designed to layer ontop of each other.  The wreath is made with 3 different stamps which gives the two shades of green for the leaves and the berries.  I added gems and red stickles to the berries for dimension.  The bow is also in the set and all have co-ordinating thinlet dies to cut them out.

Wonderous Wreath & Holiday Home
Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler & Garden Green
Always Artichoke, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler & Momento Black
Modern Label & Word Window punches

This second card is a mixture of stamp sets which I had inspiration from Pinterest.  I made the "scene" with various small stamps and sponged the top so it was like the sky.  Really pleased with this one (I made a couple for 2014 Christmas similar to this)

White Christmas & Holiday Home
Whisper White, Pool Party & Island Indigo
Pool Party, Island Indigo & Momento Black
Modern Label & Word Window punches
Stampin' Write Markers to colour in Chocolate Chip, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight & Always Artichoke
Stickles and gems from stash

My first make 2015

Hello again.  I have been creating since my last post but never had chance to take pics of them before giving them as  most of my makes have been for orders or my own Christmas Cards (which ended up very last minute makes!)

Anyway, this card was made a few days ago but I have been waiting for my new light box to arrive for taking pics.  I have treated myself to a Foldio Light box (video below)

Anyway back to my card.  I love these simple layouts and decided to use my fave colour in different shades.

Something Lacy, Flower Shop, Petite Petals & Petite Pairs
Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder & Whisper White

Pansy punch, Petite Petal punch, Scallop border punch, Large Oval punch & Scallop Oval punch

My new card storage

Been shopping to Ikea today and found this fab storage.  It holds my basic white card stock in bottom two trays and my Stampin' Up! Catalogues and notepads in the top.  Fits very neatly under my desk with room on the top for my trimmer.

The best bit is that it was just £9.90 = BARGAIN!!!!!!!!!

Wrap bracelet

I've been meaning to try this for while and finally sat down to see what I could come up with.  I used grey faceted beads, grey pearls leather cord.  The button is one from my button box.

Really pleased with how it turned out.  Much more sparkly in real life.

It also fits challenge this week on Cute Card Thursday 342 - anything but a card

Matchbox Advent Calendar

This is a Matchbox Advent Calendar I made a while ago and forgot to post.  I made to send to our Daughter at Uni. I found the idea a while ago on Pinterest.

Each matchbox is 2"x 3" x 0.5" which fits a Cadburys Freddo choc bar.  I made each matchbox using Ultimate Pro Boxer board and Centura Pearl card.  I then attached 9 together for bottom layer, then 7, then 5, then 3 and the final one at the top.  Each layer is wrapped with DSP Be of Good Cheer  (retired Stampin' Up!) and I diecut each number using 1" number from Die'sire in my Ebosser and I used Xyron 1.5" Create-a-sticker machine to glue the numbers on the front.  Large bow on the top to finish.
Now to buy the choccies to fill for her :)

Apologies for my absence

Apologies for no posts for a while but our house has been a little manic of late as our Daughter Emma has gone away to University in Winchester last weekend so we have been madly making sure she has everything and of course taking her down and settling her in.

She has settled so well and can't wait to start her course on Monday.  No home-sickness for her but we are missing her :(  She has also been fortunate to transfer her weekend job down there too so she is really pleased to still be earning LOL

Here is a pic of her all set up.

I have been creating but for custom orders which I rarely put on here as they are specific and personal but I shall hopefully be sharing some cards, gifts and packaging soon.

100,000 page views

Sorry not blogged for a while but with holidays and general family life I have not had much time to craft (although still buying crafty goodies LOL)

I logged into my blog today to find I have just passed 100,000 views (100,041).

As an infrequent blogger this is a huge milestone for me, even though not been posting I still have close to around 50 views per day.  To say I'm chuffed is an understatement.

Thanks so much to my regular follows and I promise to be back crafting and posting after my holiday.

I decided to made a simple embossed background and sponged the edges to bring out the pattern.  The sentiment was also sponged as is the flower which is made with this TUTORIAL.

After watching Pootles You tube Tutorial of Sam's No Stick Box I had to have a play and as not much work involved it wasn't too much for my poorly wrist :(

The tutorial makes a diddy 2" x 2" x 0.5" box and I altered the measurements to made a 3" x 4" x 0.5" and decorated the larger one following the sketch on Creative Challenge Club.  I am also entering into Papertake's Anything Goes Challenge.

Leftover beads and chain

This is a set I made a while ago and forgot to blog. Made with a mixed bag of odd beads from the bottom of my draw (can't even remember where from) and a little bit of chain from other projects.  With extra 3 headpins, 2 earring findings, tigertail cord, crimp beads and clap and my lovely new set is complete.

Sam's Slope top box - resized

Sam has a fabulous video tutorial today for slope top box which is a gorgeous 2"x2"x2 size so I couldn't wait to try which is the blue box.  I then had a brain-wave (hard for me LOL) so I decided to upsize it.  The striped one is 2.5" x 2.5" x 5" so still made out of one sheet of 12"x12" DSP.

The are just my practice ones as due to leave for work so will make some more and decorate when off work this weekend.

Triple Stamping

This is my first try at Triple Stamping and it was much easier than I thought.  I used just one stamp for the background then a sentiment and I decided to stamp the flap of the envelope too.

I may try this again but using different ink colours to see how that turns out.

My first Spectrum Noir Pencils card

I've had my Spectrum Noir Pencils for a while now and not had chance to have a play.  This is my first image coloured with them and I am really pleased with the result.

I coloured the Stampin Up! image with Spectrum Noir Pens and then shaded with Spectrum Noir Pencils (colour listed below)

I then decided to made a simple background of stripes using the same colour pens used in the image and wilthsimple matting and layering of card and rounding corners you have a perfectly matched card.  Of course I had to embellish with ribbon, small flowers and scattered pearls.

Helix Spiral

I decided to have another go at the Helix Spiral Pattern.  I have made these before but always with 3mm pearls in 3 colours but this time I decided to mix it up and used 3mm white pearls, 4mm blue cubes and 3x4 mm silver faceted rondelles annd with pale blue size 11 seed beads between.

I love the result and best of all it grows sooooo quickly.  I made earrings to match with just one of each bead on a ball-top head pin and fastened onto Eurowire earring findings.

Here is a close-up of the pattern

Beader's Companion Hugs and Kisses

The lovely Sarah Millsop from Beader's Companion asked me to make some samples with the new Pearl and Montee kits that are launching on C&C tomorrow.

I was very honoured and loved making these projects.

I made the hugs and kisses bracelet with a pendant and earrings to match.  I then went on to make two other variations of the pattern.

There are three colour choices of white, blue and pink and would be perfect for Brides/Bridesmaid jewellery.

You can see the sets on Crafter's Companion Beading Website.

Floating Pearls

I made this floating mixed Pearl necklace with leftover beads from stash.

I threaded 10mm pearls, 8mm pearls, 6mm pearls and 4mm pearls with size 11 crystal seed beads inbetween onto tigertail so they look like floating and made earrings to match.
